Practices are held at 6:00 three nights per week (Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday) from mid August through late November. Participants choose which nights they want to attend, but are expected to attend to at least two practices per week and are encouraged to attend three nights per week. We plan to hold occasional Wednesday practices in Newton. Formal XC practices start on Sunday, August 16.

Our main practice site will be the PIT behind the old Waltham High School. We will have a good number of practices at Leary Field on Sunday. Practices will also be held at various sites throughout the season including: Newton North High School, Leary Field, Albemarle Park, and The Cove in Newton, Charles River Walkway.

Middle school members should join us for the pre-season for early training and to meet the new members. Middle school members are also encouraged to invite their school teammates to the program for the early training, the meets, and Jr Olympics. We will have an open house on August 23 and 30 for your middle school teammates to come check it out

That said, middle schoolers will mainly train with their middle school team during the main school season. However, all middle school Club members are expected to attend our Club’s practices each Sunday during the season. Middle school program do vary in structure and intensity and we’ll adjust accordingly.

PARENT SUPPORT

We welcome parents to help support the practices. Roles can include running support, trail supervision, first aid, and workout oversite.

We are also looking to add members to our board. The board provides general guidance and feedback. We’ll also ask to have some board members take on specific tasks like uniform management, registration review, CORI management, and marketing.
