========================================================================

This is a reminder that entry fees for the March 1 Needham meet go up this Sunday.  If you have not yet entered, do so before this Sunday so that you do not need to pay a higher fee. More info here.

Be sure to affiliate with the Waltham Track Club - there is a special box on the registration page to do so.

Members DO NOT need to list their events - members will choose their events the day of the meet.  However, members do need to decide how many events they plan to do.  The basic fee allows for up to 3 events.  Members may add 1 or 2 events, but need to pay for such when you register.

Age groups for the Needham meet are based on age the day of the meet.

Also attached is a list of meet performance standards, based on last year's Needham meet.  This list has the range of performances for each event that scored in the top 8 last year.  This should help members choose events that they will be competitive in.

========================================================================

Next week will be the last week of our Winter program.

Practices will be Sunday, 5:00-6:30;  Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 6:00-7:00.

==================================================================================

Registration for our Spring Program are open and will close in 2 weeks.

Info on Upcoming Meets on Feb 19 and March 1

Our next competition will be the USATF Youth Development meet on the Wednesday of February vacation, Feb 19.   Here is the link for the entry form.

ALL CLUB MEMBERS WHO PLAN TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS MEET MUST RETURN THE ENTRY FORM/WAIVER FORM BY SUNDAY, FEB.16.

Though the HJ is not listed as an event, our Club will run the HJ that day.

=============================================

Our next meet after the vacation week will be the major meet of the season  - the Needham Youth Classic on March 1.

Members will need to register for this meet on their own, but should affiliate with the Waltham Track Club when they do so, since this is a team scoring event.

The reason members need to register own their own is due to the meet's entry fee policy - if the meet were to be cancelled due to weather, they do not reimburse any entry fees - instead, they put fees aside for future Needham TC events that a member may choose to do.  This complicates the Club's involvement because we would need to do book keeping on thousands of dollars worth of future entry fees.  It is much easier for each member to keep tract of any fees they incur.

Members should enter for this meet soon, as fees increase periodically.  Entering early also ensures that you will get a meet t-shirt.

Beginning the third week, competitions will be held each night. Members will choose which events they wish to compete in. Ribbons will be awarded in each event. Each member’s performances will be maintained on our personal record chart and awards will be presented at our end of season Awards’ Night - awards will be based on the number of personal records set by each member during the season.
