High School PROGRAM - SPRiNTS and JUMP FALL
Open to high school and rising high school athletes looking to prepare for upcoming seasons or to excel to the next level of their development. This program offers instruction and training by coaches in all track and field events, with specialization in the sprints, hurdles, jumps, middle distance, and distance. Practice sessions are held year round, but do vary with the season.

The WTC Fall sprint/jumps program seeks to prepare the high school and high achieving middle school athletes for the indoor track season. Led by Mike Travers, head coach Newton North girls track team, the program meets twice a week for 60-75 minutes, usually at Newton North HS.
Coach Mike has designed a program aimed at improving sprint mechanics, functional strength improvements, and fundamental sprint posture to help the developing track athletes understand the sprint. Coach utilizes medicine ball drills, elastic bands, plyometrics, etc to help establish important sprint habits. Coach will also use the FreeLap timing system to measure improvements throughout the session. The young sprint, hurdle and jumps athlete will gain an understanding and an appreciation of the art of speed.
Coach works to develop a sense of camaraderie and community with the group , as we learn and have fun. Of course the program is co-ed.
