High School PROGRAM - SPRiNTS and JUMP
Open to high schoolers currently not participating in their high school indoor program and middle schoolers looking to prepare for the upcoming indoor season or to excel to the next level of their development. The program is designed for experienced athletes and is not appropriate for beginners. Email Mike to discuss if you have questions.

The program will practice predominately out of the Kennedy Middle School facility on Sundays 6PM and Tuesday at 7:30. We will have a few Monday session at Brandeis in late December and early January. There is also a solid meet schedule this indoor season.
The Fall sprint/jumps program is led by Mike Travers, head coach Newton North girls track team, the program meets twice a week for 60-75 minutes, usually at Newton North HS.
Coach Mike has designed a program aimed at improving sprint mechanics, functional strength improvements, and fundamental sprint posture to help the developing track athletes understand the sprint. Coach utilizes medicine ball drills, elastic bands, plyometrics, etc to help establish important sprint habits. Coach will also use the FreeLap timing system to measure improvements throughout the session. The young sprint, hurdle and jumps athlete will gain an understanding and an appreciation of the art of speed.
Coach works to develop a sense of camaraderie and community with the group , as we learn and have fun. Of course the program is co-ed.

Meets
We will also participate in the USATF meet series. These meets are typically Sunday later afternoon. We will likely split up the early meets and attend with certain age groups.

March 1 - New England Youth Invite
These meets will require a USATF membership. Many will have this from the cross country season.
